Makers Making Change is excited to be partner with MMC Chapter: Gibbons-Edm to facilitate a STEM with Purpose workshop! We will be putting on our Switch Build.

Our Build Assistive Technology: Assistive Switches workshop allows participants to discover the world of assistive technology by assembling assistive switches from our Makers Making Change assistive device library. Assistive switches can help people with disabilities independently access anything from computers and smartphones to switch-adapted toys and appliances. Switches come in many different shapes and sizes, and address many different needs.

Participants will solder and assemble to create assistive switches.

MMC provides materials, tools and instructions to workshop participants as they are lead in a workshop learning more about assistive technology and accessibility while creating an assistive device!

Our STEM with Purpose workshops support STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) education through an assistive technology lens and encourage students to tackle real-world challenges and to empathize with people with disabilities.

All created devices will be donated to local partners and individuals with disabilities.
