Makers Making Change Teaches Soldering at Skills Canada National Competition 2025

On May 29th and 30th, our team attended the Skills Canada National Competition in Regina, Saskatchewan. It was a great opportunity to welcome two new members of our team to their first event, Samantha (far left) and Kris (second from left). Over the course of two days, we taught over 340 students how to solder and build a battery interrupter.

We also had students participate in a reverse engineering project as part of the Mechanical CAD competition where competitors had to recreate the design and then create a custom topper for the MMC60 Switch. We had a great time engaging students in STEM education while raising awareness of affordable and makeable assistive technology solutions for people with disabilities.
