Switch Adapted Ms. Rachel Speak & Sing Doll

The Switch Adapted Ms. Rachel Speak & Sing Doll is an adapted "Ms. Rachel Speak & Sing Doll" that can be used with two 3.5 mm assistive switches for alternative access. The toy sings and makes sounds when it is activated.

Plug in a 3.5 mm assistive switch to one or both of the two cables that come out of the back of the Switch Adapted Ms. Rachel Speak & Sing Doll.

To use the toy, activate one of the assistive switches, and the toy will respond as if you have pressed the button inside. The toy will make noises each time the user activates the switch. These will cycle through a few different noises/songs.

This adapted toy may be suitable for individuals with physical or developmental disabilities who are unable to activate small buttons on standard toys. It supports users who rely on one or two assistive switches due to limited fine motor control, strength, or coordination.

Switch-adapted toys can promote independent play, cause-and-effect learning, and accessible engagement for children and adults who use switch-based access methods.

To adapt the toy, you must be able to strip wires and solder.

This build involves disassembling the toy, soldering in two switch plug cables, and reassembling the toy.
