Switch Adapted Paint Spin Art Machine
A switch adapted spin art machine allows users to independently create colorful artwork through accessible switch activation, supporting creativity, engagement, and cause-and-effect learning.
Device Information
Overview
The Switch Adapted Spin Art Machine is a recreational device modified for activation using a single assistive switch. When paint is added to the center platform and the connected switch is pressed, the machine spins to create colorful, dynamic patterns.
This adaptation allows individuals who use switch access to independently participate in creative art activities. The device supports cause-and-effect learning, switch skill development, and accessible engagement in leisure and classroom environments.
The spin art machine can be used in homes, schools, therapy settings, and community programs to promote creative expression and inclusive participation.
This device is part of our Switch Adapted Toys collection, where commercially available toys are modified to include standard assistive switch inputs. These adaptations make popular recreational activities more accessible for individuals who rely on switch-based access methods, promoting inclusive play and independent participation.
How To Use
Connect an assistive switch with a 3.5 mm mono plug to the 3.5 mm mono jack added to the toy.
Place a piece of paper, or whatever other material you would like to use onto the spinning art platform (yellow platform). While the assistive switch is activated, the art platform will spin. Use the included art materials to add designs to the paper while the platform spins.
Disability Type Description
This adapted toy may be suitable for individuals with physical or developmental disabilities who are unable to activate small buttons on standard toys. It supports users who rely on one or two assistive switches due to limited fine motor control, strength, or coordination.
Switch-adapted toys can promote independent play, cause-and-effect learning, and accessible engagement for children and adults who use switch-based access methods.
