Custom Single Switch Kit

This device consists of a kit of materials and a guide so that switch users and their caretakers can customize the shape of a switch to better suit the user’s hand. With a more contoured shape, users can grip the switches more securely and position it wherever on their hand.

Assistive switches are used by people with disabilities who have limited mobility and hand functions. They provide alternative inputs to control assistive technologies they otherwise may have difficulties operating such as computers, environmental controls, and communication aids.

After molding, the device can be used just like any other assistive switch by connecting the 3.5 mm audio cable into a switch-compatible device such as a switch-adapted toy, switch-interface, or adapted gaming interface.

This device is intended for an assistive switch user that requires a switch molded to them.

This build requires beginner level soldering, and use of heat moldable polymer.

This device is a two-part build that consists of making the assistive switch by soldering cable to the button, and then using the heat-moldable plastic to create a custom fit.
