Switch Adapted Ark Miido Dinosaur Race Track Toy

The Switch Adapted Slide Track Toys Dinosaur Paradise is an adapted "Slide Track Toys Dinosaur Paradise" that can be used with a single 3.5 mm assistive switch for alternative access. When the switch is pressed and held, the toy makes sounds and the staircase moves the dinosaurs up the track, and then they slide down. The toy has the option to have just lights or lights and sound while it is on.

This device is part of our collection of adapted toys. This means the toys are accessible by adding assistive switch inputs.

Plug a 3.5 mm assistive switch into the switch input on the adapted toy.

To use the toy, activate the assistive switch. The toy will respond as if the original button has been pressed. The assistive switch must be held for the toy to remain activated. The toy can be used in light or light+sound mode using the sliding switch on the toy. If holding the switch is difficult,  see our Assistive Switch Latch device.

This adapted toy may be suitable for individuals with physical or developmental disabilities who are unable to activate small buttons on standard toys. It supports users who rely on one or two assistive switches due to limited fine motor control, strength, or coordination.

Switch-adapted toys can promote independent play, cause-and-effect learning, and accessible engagement for children and adults who use switch-based access methods.

To adapt the toy, you must be able to wire strip and solder.

This build involves disassembling the toy, soldering in the jack(s), and reassembling the toy.
